DOTA, Tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid
Bio-Synthesis offer DOTA oligonucleotide labeling service. Macrocyclic labels such as 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-tetraacetic acid, DOTA, containing four acetic acid carboxylate groups off the four nitrogens of its twelve atom cyclic structure, is capable of modifying proteins and binding radioactive metal ions in strong coordination complexes of up to eight dative bonds. DOTA labeled oligo are often used as organic ligands in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) or in application using target-specific radiopharmaceuticals.
DOTA chelator can be attached to an oligo at any position the use of different bifunctional cross linker. Dual HPLC purification is highly recommended.
