Description:
This peptide represents the N-terminal of non-structural protein 1 (NS1) of dengue-1 virus, residues 111-116. This epitope is recognized by monoclonal antibody 15F-3, which is serotype-specific to dengue-1. Dengue viruses are enveloped plus-strand RNA viruses that belong to the Flaviviridae family. These viruses exist in four serotypes (DEN1-4) and are transmitted from infected individuals by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Infection causes dengue fever, dengue hemorrhagic fever, and dengue shock syndrome and is a health problem in tropical and subtropical areas.
