Aptamers are short, single-stranded DNA or RNA (ssDNA or ssRNA) molecules that are generated through repeated selection using SELEX or an equivalent in-invivo procedure upon specific targets.These targets which are useful in therapeutics include proteins, peptides, carbohydrates, small molecules and toxins.
